Canadian luxury skin care line, Elizabeth Grant Skin Care, helps women embrace their skin at Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital
Toronto, ON - Every Thursday morning during the month of June, female patients at Mount Sinai Hospital's Ruth Burnett Centre for Outpatient Oncology received a gift of Elizabeth Grant Skin Care's Exclusives Skin Renewal Serums thanks to the company's charitable division, EG Cares.
An intimate workshop was also held on Thursday, June 19th, 2008 to give patients a boost of self-confidence and to help them care for damaged skin often caused by cancer treatment. These workshops are an ongoing event at Mount Sinai and Elizabeth Grant Skin Care looks forward to taking part in again.
"We understand the side effects associated with undergoing cancer treatments - the skin becomes very dry and uncomfortable," said Marion Witz, president of Elizabeth Grant Skin Care and two-time winner of Profit Magazine's Canada's Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs award. "Our goal was to hydrate the skin, alleviate any discomfort and, ultimately, help women feel better during a very difficult physical and emotional time in their lives."
Side effects associated with chemotherapy include various skin reactions such as dry skin, redness, hyper pigmentation and sensitivity, particularly to the sun. "These serums have gotten great reviews from women who have undergone cancer treatments or who are suffering from other maladies that have altered the condition of their skin," explains Witz. "These same products helped to cure Elizabeth Grant's own damaged skin years ago and they are still proven to be effective for women today."
A long time supporter of the Look Good Feel Better Foundation, Elizabeth Grant Skin Care was recognized just last month for helping to make a difference for women with cancer and was awarded an Emerald Award for contributions of over $200,000 to the cause.
